Choosing an everyday backpack involves more than a weight figure. Think about where your laptop, charger, bottle and smaller belongings will go, and which items you want to keep separate.
The Japanese-made Capsule Daypack was designed to refine an everyday backpack through its materials and storage arrangement. Its finished weight is 460 g. Here is how to read that figure alongside the laptop-sleeve specification before ordering.
Finished weight and 5.0oz fabric describe different things
The 460 g figure on the Capsule Daypack product page refers to the finished bag. The 5.0oz designation in its name and material description identifies the specification of the Dyneema® Composite Fabric used. It is not the weight of the complete backpack.
Your belongings add to the weight you carry. Lay out the items you take regularly before deciding which compartments you need. A bag's empty weight alone cannot tell you how your own collection of devices and other belongings will work within it.
A 13-inch laptop sleeve is not a model-specific fit guarantee
The main compartment includes a sleeve for a 13-inch laptop and a separate tablet pocket. Devices with the same screen-size designation can have different external dimensions, especially with a case attached.
Before ordering, contact HLVTC with:
- Your device's manufacturer and model
- Its width, height and thickness
- Whether you intend to leave a case or cover on
- Any tablet or other device you want to carry alongside it
Internal sleeve measurements and a model-by-model compatibility list are not provided in this guide. The screen-size designation alone should not be treated as confirmation that a particular device fits.
External dimensions are not internal compartment measurements
The listed external dimensions are 42 cm high × 31 cm wide × 16 cm deep. They help describe the overall size of the backpack. They do not establish the usable dimensions of the sleeve or the opening through which an item must pass.
For a larger or thicker item, check the intended compartment and opening as well as the bag's overall size. Do not infer the sleeve's internal dimensions or usable capacity by multiplying the three external measurements.
Decide what you want to separate before examining the photographs
A zipped organizer sits opposite the device storage. Outside are a sculpted capsule pocket, a bottle pocket on the left and a gusseted pocket on the right. A luggage-handle sleeve is positioned on the back, and the chest strap uses a FIDLOCK® buckle.
For commuting, consider where your laptop will sit, whether you want smaller items separated, and whether you carry a bottle. If you travel with a suitcase, examine the rear construction too. Use these questions to decide which product photographs deserve a closer look.
A pocket's intended purpose does not establish compatibility with every item. Ask before ordering if the shape or thickness of a particular bottle or device leaves you unsure.
Connect the specification to the way you carry
HLVTC's aim for the Capsule Daypack is to develop the everyday backpack through lightness, strength and organized storage. Consider its shape with your wardrobe and the arrangement of your own belongings alongside the material and weight specifications.
If you are also considering a sling, read the HLVTC bag materials and storage comparison, which includes the 1.43oz model and DELOREAN.
